The club can confirm that John Monday, the Shots Foundation manager will be leaving the Shots Foundation. It follows a meeting of the trustees where it was agreed that there was currently no likelihood of resuming key activities for the foreseeable future.
Shots Foundation Chairman, Sir John Casey paid tribute to John for his contribution to the football club.
“During his time at the Foundation, John worked hard and developed strong relationships with many local charities. He also successfully launched Man v Fat and our veterans’ hub.
“Sadly, with so many activities curtailed due to the pandemic, the trustees have reached this difficult decision to curtail our activities.”
Club Chairman, Shahid Azeem explained how the pandemic had affected the foundation’s plans.
“Having known John for a number of years, it is incredibly sad to see him depart.
“However, our plans to work with more local schools and to offer enhanced matchday experiences for young supporters has just not been possible this season.”
The Foundation will continue but its activities will be limited until the current national picture changes.
