Our Volunteers

Paul Wise
Paul sits on our Voluntary Fundraising Committee and also supports at our Veterans’ Hub and occasional matchdays at the EBB Stadium. Paul first got involved with us as an attendee at our Veterans outreach events, as he is a former Royal Marine. Over time, he has grown to become more involved and come to be one of our valued volunteers.
Paul volunteers because “It has given me a genuine sense of purpose and connection. It’s allowed me to get out and about, spending time with people who share the same passion for our community… Volunteering has helped me feel more confident and engaged, and knowing that my time and effort are appreciated motivates me to keep giving my best.

Paula Denmark
Paula has been volunteering with us for almost a year now. She got involved with us and the football club after taking part in the Poppy Appeal with the Royal British Legion and being blown away with the support our fanbase gave. Not only does Paula help run our matchday experience, but she has made shots-themed bracelets that have raised over £350 for us at the Shots Foundation.
Paula says, “I have been made to feel so welcome by everyone and feel very appreciated by Jamie and the rest of the staff and trustees. The Shots Foundation does amazing work in the local community so if you have time to give, then consider joining us! You don’t have to be a fan of the Shots, but I guarantee if you aren’t, you soon will be!”

Tony Chaplin
Tony has been volunteering with us at the Shots Foundation since the Summer of 2024. Initially getting involved with Sight Loss Soccer (SLS), Tony was instrumental in helping us secure a donation from the Masonic Charitable Foundation towards SLS. He is a frequent attendee at these sessions lending a helping hand. Tony now also sits on our Voluntary Fundraising Committee helping raise vital funds for our work in the community.

Alan Henson
Alan is a dedicated member of the Voluntary Fundraising Committee, where he plays an important role in supporting and developing initiatives that help drive the Foundation’s work in the community.
A lifelong supporter of the Shots, Alan has been a regular at the EBB Stadium since the mid-1970s. His long standing connection with the club inspires his commitment to giving back through the Foundation.
Alan is passionate about making a difference and values the opportunity to contribute to projects that have a positive impact locally. He says “Being involved in fundraising for the Foundation gives me a real opportunity to give something back and support it’s vital work in the community”

Rak Owens
Rak is one of our fantastic volunteers who supports the majority of our events, such as the Veterans’ Hub. Rak also gives up her time to be our Minutes Secretary for our Foundation meetings.
