Shots Toy Appeal – THANK YOU!
In the week before Christmas, players, staff and club officials from Aldershot Town FC, alongside representatives of the Shots Foundation, visited local hospitals to deliver the presents generously raised through our Shots Toy Appeal this Christmas.
In the week of the 11th December, Shots fans, staff, players and officials came together to donate toys to our Toy Appeal. Whether they were dropped to the club shop, donated at our Christmas Carol Service, or given before our fixture vs Eastleigh, we would like to thank you for your donations, they have really helped those who need it most this Christmas.
One of our groups, comprising of Chairman Shahid Azeem, Tommy Widdrington, Hugo Langton, Sam Carter, Aaron Jones, Theo Widdrington and Olly Scott made their way to Royal Surrey County Hospital to donate their share of presents to the Hascombe children’s ward. Our other group visited our local Frimley Park Hospital to give gifts to those at their children’s ward, A&E and the outpatients ward. This group included Shots Foundation representatives Jamie MacAllister and Kay Khan, first-team coaches Dave Smalley and Richard Dryden, and Shots players Tyler Frost, Ollie Harfield, Tommy Willard, Josh Stokes, and Lorent Tolaj.
Whilst it’s never nice to visit children in hospital at this time of year, it was wonderful to see the hard work the doctors, nurses, carers and all hospital staff put in to lifting spirits and making their stay as comfortable and short as possible. We wish all of them the very best, and we hope to be able to work with them again in the future.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated and made this possible. Your generosity at this time of year is amazing to see, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year!
