NLT Tournament Triumph!

On Thursday 8th February, we took the part in the Regional Stage of the National League Trust (NLT) Tournament. The NLT tournament is an event organised to give local schools in local communities the chance to represent their club, and even reach Wembley! Back in September, we held our own tournament to decide which teams would represent us and Aldershot Town FC at the Regional Stage. Both mixed and girls tournaments were won by South Farnham School.

Both teams performed fantastically and made it out of the group stage comfortably, with the mixed team going unbeaten with 4 wins and a draw, and the girls team winning 2 and narrowly losing 2. Both teams therefore progressed to the semi-finals where they both faced up against Slough Town. The mixed team put on a great show, cruising to a 3-0 victory. Unfortunately, the girls just missed out with a defeat on penalties, after a closely fought 0-0 draw. Congratulations to the girls team of Slough Town who continued on to win the final!

The girls finished with a flourish, beating Woking 1-0 to secure a 3rd place finish, well done girls! Our mixed team showed their strength again, defeating Havant and Waterlooville 2-0 in the final to progress to the South Stage of the NLT Tournament! Victory at the South Tournament would see South Farnham represent us at Wembley, before the National League Playoff final.

We would like to thank all of our footballers who represented us on the day, their parents/teachers for bringing them there, Cardinals in the Community for their organisation of the day, and the National League Trust for providing communities with this opportunity.
